BOSS And EVO Support Sudanese Students
More than 11,000 school children in Southern Sudan have been equipped with stationery thanks to a donation by BOSS Federation members and EVO Group.
A container of 176,000 books, pads, writing equipment and desk top items has been given to pupils at 21 schools in Khartoum and North Kordofan, via overseas charity CAFOD. The gift-in-kind is part of an initiative aimed at improving Sudanese students’ educational facilities and learning outcomes.
Robert Baldrey, CEO, EVO Group: “We have been delighted to work with BOSS on this immensely worthwhile project and hope the resources go some way in helping these schools deliver progress for their students.
“We had had feedback from CAFOD and understand that one headmaster in Zagalona, Khartoum has emphasised just how important these materials are. He has said that the pupils never normally get this quantity or quality of product, because their parents would struggle to afford anything like this themselves.
“We’re aiming to work with BOSS on another similar project later this year and hope that we will be able to support as many, if not more, students on the next delivery.”
